Understanding Our ADHD Assessment Process

Our ADHD assessments are conducted by a highly experienced, clinician-led multidisciplinary team with a deep, specialist focus on neurodiversity.

Unlike general services with an interest in ADHD, we are dedicated experts in understanding and supporting neurodivergent individuals.
Our team includes consultant psychologists, psychiatrists, psychotherapists, occupational therapists, a dietician, and a GP, all working together to provide comprehensive and individualised assessments.

With senior clinicians who have held positions within the HSE, NHS and CAMHS teams across Ireland and the UK, we bring extensive expertise in specialist ADHD services.

Our assessments go beyond diagnosis, offering meaningful insights, practical recommendations, tailored support and medication to help individuals thrive in their personal, academic and professional lives.

The ADHD Assessment Process

We have broken the ADHD assessment process into stages to make it easier to understand

Before your assessment, we provide clear guidance and resources to help you understand whether an ADHD assessment is needed. We will explain the process and prepare you for your appointment if you wish to go ahead.

Our assessment process follows the highest clinical standards and includes:

  • A detailed clinical interview exploring developmental history, cognitive function, and behavioural patterns. An assessment without this is not a valid process.
  • The use of APA (American Psychological Association) and BPS (British Psychological Society) standard psychometric tools for objective measurement. In the case of a child or adolescent ADHD assessment, detailed information is also obtained from the school.
  • A full diagnostic report with individual recommendations for you or your child, support and accommodations.

Following diagnosis, we provide a structured consultation either in person or face to face to:

  • Explain your results and answer any questions.
  • Discuss treatment options, including psychological support, workplace/educational accommodations/adjustments, and lifestyle strategies.
  • Develop an individualised plan to help manage ADHD effectively.

For those considering medication, we offer an on-site medical review with a specialist to assess suitability. This includes:

  • A comprehensive medical consultation to explore treatment options.
  • A discussion of potential benefits and side effects of medication.
  • A personalised treatment plan if medication is recommended.
  • Medication if needed.

If medication is prescribed, we provide continued monitoring and support to ensure optimal dosage and effectiveness.

What’s Included in the Assessment Fee?

  • Stages 1–3 (Pre-Assessment, Diagnosis, Follow-Up & Treatment Planning) are all included in one comprehensive assessment fee.
  • Stages 4 and 5 The medical review, prescription for medication and ongoing medication support are separate services available at the clinic and are not included in the standard fee.
